Augmented reality agency in Switzerland

Cybel’Art is an augmented reality agency based in Morges, in the canton of Vaud, between Lausanne and Geneva. Since 2019, we have designed and produced augmented experiences built on real presence: artists, works, objects and places.

We work with cultural institutions, museums, publishers, brands and event organisers across French-speaking Switzerland and beyond.

What augmented reality brings to a project

Augmented reality overlays digital content on the real world, seen through a smartphone or tablet: a person filmed in volume, a 3D object, a sound, a text. Unlike virtual reality, it does not replace the venue; it extends it. That is what makes it valuable for cultural mediation, publishing, branded objects, corporate gifts or a trade-show stand.

Our first job is to choose the right use: what should appear, when, for which audience and on which medium. Technology comes second, in the service of the story.

Our augmented reality formats

icologram®: real presence in volume

Cybel’Art’s protocol for capturing a person or a performance in volumetric video, then making it appear in augmented reality or as a hologram. It was first used in 2019 to capture pianist Philippe Entremont in La Chaux-de-Fonds, as reported by RTBF. Discover icologram®

icolocard®: the card that comes alive

A printed card linked, depending on the project, to augmented reality content: a message, an artist, a work. In Neuchâtel, an icolocard® activates illustrator John Howe’s icologram® in the Real Illusions app. Discover icolocard®

icolobook©: the augmented book

A book whose pages open archives, sounds and holographic appearances through the Real Illusions app. The book remains the main object; augmented reality extends the reading. See our brands

Augmented objects and installations

Selected work in Switzerland and beyond

  • Philippe Entremont, icologram® #1 — La Chaux-de-Fonds, November 2019. Three-day holographic and volumetric capture of the pianist, image and sound.
  • Henri Dès — Grenoble, November 2021. Volumetric capture of thirteen songs; Le Beau Tambour has been available in the icologram® app since 14 December 2023.
  • OSR, A Symphonic Odyssey — artgenève, Palexpo, 25–28 January 2024. Pictures at an Exhibition presented in holographic form; Cybel’Art is credited for the concept and icologram® technology (RTS).
  • MIA, Swiss Telethon — November 2024. Augmented reality experience created with Real Illusions and the Fondation Téléthon Action Suisse, with Cybel’Art as a certified platform partner.
  • Steve Wozniak, Apple 50 — Lausanne, April 2026. Augmented plaque combining a 3D-printed Apple I replica, its schematic and content activated with Real Illusions.
  • John Howe, La Tour du Fantastique — Neuchâtel, 2026. The illustrator’s icologram® takes its place in the reconstruction of his studio.

Each project is detailed in our portfolio, and its story told in the Cybel’Art Journal.

Which sectors?

Culture and museums. Bring an artist into the room, give life to an archive, extend an exhibition or a visit.

Publishing. Open a book or catalogue onto sounds, images and augmented presences.

Brands and companies. Give a card, an object, a gift or a stand a second life.

Events. Create an on-site activation, then an augmented keepsake for the audience to take home.

Our method, in four steps

  1. Framing. We define the content, the audience, the venue and the activation medium.
  2. Capture and production. Volumetric video, 3D, sound and writing, as the project requires.
  3. Integration and testing. Choice of app or medium, then tests on real devices.
  4. Launch and mediation. Support for the launch and documentation of the project.

Based in Morges, working across Switzerland

Cybel’Art SA is based at Grand-Rue 29 in Morges, between Lausanne and Geneva. We work across the canton of Vaud, Geneva, Neuchâtel and Valais, and beyond when a project calls for it. For headset and 360° video experiences, see virtual reality and 360° in Switzerland.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app to see an augmented reality experience?

It depends on the project. Our icologram® and icolocard® experiences are currently activated on a smartphone or tablet through mobile apps such as Real Illusions or the icologram® app. We choose the medium according to the audience, the venue and how long the experience should live.

What is the difference between augmented and virtual reality?

Augmented reality adds digital elements to the real world, seen through a screen. Virtual reality immerses the person in a fully digital environment, usually with a headset. Cybel’Art works in both: see our page on virtual reality and 360°.

What is volumetric capture?

It is a capture filmed from several angles that renders a person in three dimensions. That person can then appear in a real place in augmented reality, be viewed from all sides, or be presented as a hologram. This is the principle of the icologram® protocol.

How much does an augmented reality project cost?

The budget mainly depends on the content to produce (capture, 3D, sound), the activation medium and the planned distribution. We prepare a proposal after a first conversation about your project, audience and timeline.

Do you work outside French-speaking Switzerland?

Yes. Based in Morges, we work across the canton of Vaud, Geneva, Neuchâtel and Valais, and travel when a project requires it, as for the capture of Henri Dès in Grenoble in 2021.
