Virtual reality, 360° and immersive experiences in Switzerland

Cybel’Art designs and produces virtual reality and 360° video experiences built on real performances. Based in Morges, near Lausanne and Geneva, the agency designed and developed Virtual Hall® with the Fondation de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande: a virtual concert hall that places the audience at the heart of the orchestra.

What virtual reality and 360° change for the audience

360° video records the entire scene around the camera: everyone chooses where to look, on a screen or in a headset. Virtual reality goes further by placing the person inside the experience. With several synchronised cameras, viewers can even change viewpoint during the concert, moving from the conductor to the sections, or from the hall to the stage.

We always start from a real moment: a concert, a show, a festival. The aim is to preserve its presence, energy and music, then open new ways in: remotely, in a museum, in a care home or on a stand.

Virtual Hall®: inside the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande

Virtual Hall® is an initiative of the Fondation de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, designed and developed with Cybel’Art. Synchronised 360° views let you take a seat among the musicians and switch viewpoints during the concert. Web 360 showcases can be viewed on a computer, tablet or phone; the VR app is offered on Meta Quest or PICO, depending on model and region.

The first public trials took place at artgenève in January 2025, before the VR app was published on the Meta Store. Virtual Hall® is a trademark of the OSR Foundation, designed by Cybel’Art.

Completed 360° captures

  • Beethoven × Kalalumen — Lausanne Cathedral, 9 October 2025. Cybel’Art produced and directed the immersive version of the Ninth Symphony for Virtual Hall®, as a 360° audiovisual capture. See the project
  • Virtual Hall® at the Verbier Festival — July 2026. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 by the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy; Cybel’Art is credited with the 360° capture and the immersive experience.
  • Virtual Hall® in care homes — 2026, around Lake Geneva and in the canton of Vaud. Free, guided workshops co-organised with the OSR Foundation; software designed by Cybel’Art lets participants move between 360° views and display the score.
  • Bachata Geneva Festival — Palexpo, Geneva, 8–12 October 2026. Capture of live performances with several synchronised 360° cameras, in 8K. The release of the films is a separate deployment.

Our immersive formats

Multi-camera 360° video

Several synchronised 360° cameras capture a performance from different angles and let the audience change viewpoint.

Holography and volumetric capture

To make a performer appear in volume, our icologram® protocol complements 360°, as at artgenève 2024 with the OSR. Discover icologram®

Who is it for?

Orchestras, venues and festivals. Extend a concert beyond the evening and reach new audiences.

Museums and institutions. Offer an immersive experience within a visit or an exhibition.

Health and care homes. Provide cultural access that complements live concerts, with suitable mediation.

Brands and events. Bring an event to life on a stand, remotely or afterwards.

Our method

  1. Preparation. Venue scouting, camera and sound placement, with the artists and the organiser.
  2. Capture. Multi-camera 360° filming during rehearsal or performance.
  3. Post-production. Editing, synchronisation of viewpoints and sound, optimisation for distribution.
  4. Distribution. Web 360, VR headset, on-site installation or mediation workshops.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a virtual reality headset?

Not always. Virtual Hall®’s Web 360 showcases can be viewed on a computer, tablet or phone by moving the view. A headset such as Meta Quest or PICO offers the most complete immersion.

What is the difference between 360° video and virtual reality?

360° video records the entire scene around the camera; you choose where to look. Virtual reality refers to the experience lived in a headset, which can rely on such videos or on a 3D environment. We combine both depending on the audience and the venue.

Can you film a concert or a show in front of an audience?

Yes. The capture is prepared with the organiser, the artists and the venue, so as to respect the audience, the stage and the acoustics. The concerts offered in Virtual Hall® are real performances.

Who owns Virtual Hall®?

Virtual Hall® is a trademark of the Fondation de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Cybel’Art designed and developed the platform with the Foundation.

How much does a 360° capture or a VR experience cost?

The budget depends on the number of cameras and viewpoints, the duration, post-production and the distribution mode (web, headset, installation). We prepare a proposal after a first conversation.
